Jr. Designer

PART TIME as an Independent Contractor | 15-20 hours a month

(This position will have the potential for more hours)

A Hybrid role with most work done remotely. Candidates must be in the Portland Metro area.

Hourly Rate: $30-$50 Depending on Skill Level

Fox & Fern Interiors is a women-owned, interior design studio based in Portland, Oregon. Our services range from kitchen and bathroom design, space planning, and custom furnishings for residential interiors and commercial spaces. 

We enjoy working with a variety of design styles including traditional, mid-century modern, transitional, eclectic, or the client’s own personal blend. Our design studio collaborates closely with our clients to design beautiful, functional, and personalized interiors. Fox & Fern’s mission is to design a custom-tailored space that incorporates classic aesthetics and stands the test of time.

The ideal candidate should have great attention to detail and understand the impact of design choices on the overall design and construction process.

Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design (preferred)

• 1-2+ years in a Professional Interior Design Role

• Proficient in AutoCAD

• Photoshop for Renderings & Interior Photography (preferred but not required)

• Marketing / Social Media Experience (preferred)

Job Duties:

Including but not limited to -

• Assist Designers in Schematic Design/Concept Imagery

• AutoCAD: Space Planning, Floor Plans, & Elevations 

• Errands: Drop offs / Pickups

• Mood Boards

• Ordering Samples & Communication with Vendors

• Tracking Sheets / Purchasing Follow-ups

• Sourcing and Specifying of Furnishings & Lighting

• Accompany Designer to Site Visits or Client Meetings 

• Take Measurements, Photos, & Record Details of Meetings

• Assist on Installations & Photoshoots

• Instagram Content & Captions
