PIEDMONT BASEMENT RENOVATION

This charming 1923 craftsman home located in the Piedmont Neighborhood of Portland, Oregon received our help with a basement renovation. Our clients reached out needing guidance and advice on how to give this finished basement a much needed refresh.

We tailored our services to this client’s specific needs by offering a blend of design advice and full service. By providing a conceptual design, color palette, and material options, the clients were able to manage the bulk of the renovation on their own. As the project moved along we made ourselves available to assist with any missing pieces such as lighting fixtures, plumbing fixtures, and hardware.

With aqua subway tile, a black and white traditional mosaic floor, brass hardware, and a yellow sawtooth striped wallpaper from Sanderson, we were able to transform this dark basement bathroom into a bright, cheery space anyone would be excited to have in their home.

We carried the yellow into the laundry/kitchenette space by going with Wythe Gold from Benjamin Moore for the wall color, and added some interest to the floor with a checkered, tumbled travertine from Z Collection. In order to create some contrast, we recommended polished nickel for the plumbing and cabinet hardware to stand out from the dark wood and gold walls. The rich, warm tones in this space feel so cozy and welcoming that you forget you’re in a basement.
